Margy is a retired church choir conductor and K-12 vocal music educator with a MAT from St. Thomas University. She delights in most things Norwegian and started Kvinnekor, a choir for women who sing in Norwegian, in 2014. Her photo reminds her of the night she met and conversed på norsk with Kim Andreas Arnesen, a superb composer from Norway, at the St. Olaf Christmas Fest
She studied Norwegian at Skogfjorden, St. Olaf College, the International Summer School in Oslo, and continues through MNCLP. She sewed her own bunad from the Vestre-Toten region, regularly reads the Norwegian American Weekly and is involved with the Boards of Norway House and the Edvard Grieg Society/MN.
She delights in seeing her singers gain confidence and build community through learning and sharing vocal music.
