Norway and the Environment: UN Sustainability Goals - Comparing Minnesota and Norway - IN-PERSON
Norway and the Environment: UN Sustainability Goals - Comparing Minnesota and Norway - IN-PERSON
Taught in English.
Norway is an acknowledged global leader in the area of environmental protection and sustainability. As an example, in 2015, Norway spearheaded the acceptance by the UN General Assembly of the 17 United Nations Sustainability Goals.
In this class, we will be looking more closely at some of these Goals and use them as a framework for comparing Norway with Minnesota. By using indicators delineated by the United Nations, we will take a look at how far Minnesota and Norway have come in reaching each of the selected Goals. Some of the Goals we will be looking more closely at include 'Clean Water and Sanitation,' 'Affordable and Clean Energy,' 'Life Below Water,' and 'Life on Land.'
Text: A text compendium will be available for purchase at Mindekirken at the first class.
